With respect to the error you are seeing, have you tried updating all the 
libraries on the box?

Maybe its worth while starting with a more current version of Fedora Core 
as that version of xfvb is probably a bit old. I have switched over to 
using Ubuntu and CentOS. I believe the 9.04 / 10.04 release versions of 
Ubuntu have longer EOL terms but might want to check me on that. 

Anyways just my two cents. 

Also - Marvin did great things for the community. It's a shame he never got 
any pay for all the hard work. I at least can say I got a chance to buy him 
a beer when he was in town in NYC. I'll do it again if he comes back up 
this way.
