There are two reasons why this probably happens: 1. You're using greylisting. This rejects an initial message from an unknown mail server, which is supposed to try again later.
Not that I know of, but anything is possible. 2. Yahoo is sending mail from many servers. This means it's more likely that the greylisting will apply. To avoid this problem, have your mail server administrator add the appropriate Yahoo mail servers to a whitelist, if possible. I have white-listed the yahoo domain used in the list mail, but that did not seem to help. Our mail administrators are bringing the cooperate spam filtering in house in the near future.
