Hello,

I must admit that I'm an admirer of Macromedia products, like Flex for example. Flex is a nice product in my opinion, cool UI but under this fancy cover lies beasts called Flash Player, AS2...

Maybe it's just me, but I found difficult the way AS2/Flash Player interprets the so called AS2 primitive types versus reference type, and I think doesn't do any good to anybody figuring out if the variable is in fact a primitive type or an object...when in fact the FlashPlayer inteprets them and decide if it's an int or float, etc.... very annoing in my opinion....

Declaration like this : var r:Number = new Number(250); do nothing that confuse a Java, C# programer....and let's face it many people that use Flex at this moment comes from areas like .NET/J2EE. Again, maybe its just my lack of AS2 knowledge... but I take as a joke when people consider AS2 an OO language...

In conclusion, I would like to see a better way to handle the data types...

Regards,

Tomba
