Hi Rich, I actually tried something like what you are describing. I wanted to have a list of events with the event details on the left hand side and then the map in the middle. Then each event would have a marker on the google map that you could click on for details. Well after about three days worth of work I finally got the google map to show up in Flex. I was still not able to put the markers on the screen or control what part of the map that google displayed. Also I ran into another problem. If I viewed the application on my PC then I could see the maps but if I viewed it on any other PC that was trying to access the webserver on my PC it would not load the maps part of the application.
I would be more than happy to share what I have with you and also there is a link that you will probably find helpful.
