Actionscript can do REST just fine. From AIR. Flash Player however cannot. It's a limitation imposed on the plugin by the browsers. However, we've been told to keep our ears open for an announcement about (what will hopefully be) a relaxing of some other networking restrictions imposed on the player, so if we're lucky we'll get access to methods other than GET and POST alongside that whenever it comes.
