Naw, there is a great team there, and we all help
eachother tag team the questions. Additionally, some of those
Flashnewbie's also are helping the other Flashnewbie's which makes it a low
maintaence list... Flexnewbie would be a LOT more challenging. For
example, I can answer AS & MXML questions, but if your Tomcat gets fubarred,
not sure really what to tell you; I'd just pray someone else on the list knew
about that stuff like old hat.

Not sure I agree with
you folks. FlashNewbie list only seemed to work cause Jesse answered 98% of all
inquiries. ;-)

I think that is a fantastic idea, and is much needed,
ecspecially with the explosive growth of this list, and moreover interest in
Flex.
...however, the creation
& maintainence of an email list is one of the most challenging geek tasks that exist. I'd love to support
from the sidelines.

Newbies Mail List
I was
wondering if there was a chance of a Flex newbies list. Like
the Flash Newbies List. Unless It's
there and I'm just oblivous. It seems to me that the population here will be mushrooming and I think
it would help some of us starting
with Flex without any enterprise development experience or just dabbling to have a more casual
environment. I guess it goes with
the "there are no dumb questions." saying- well it depends on where you ask. I always hate lobbing a
"What exactly is Struts?" or
other non-critical question into a sea of people trying
to get their work done. And I
sure as shizzle don't want to put a link to my "Hey look I put 3 tabs in a window and made the button
pretty" examples but believe that
there are others out there who are just as excited as I am to see their first Flex steps actually
work.
If it's a matter of
actually getting it started I'm willing to (with some help and guidance) put the footwork in to get it
going.
Just a thought- holla
back-
Mani
