Are you talking about the time it takes to show the dropdown?  If so, try setting the openDuration to 1 J

Subject: [flexcoders] Flex2 combobox performance

Hello all,

I've noticed that performance of mx:ComboBox is really low. I mean, when
using a Flex2b1 combobox component, expanding its contents gets lagged,
not fluid. Has anyone else noticed this behaviour?
