Would this not be wasting resources compared to adding the menu as a child at creation time?

I tried the update display but it was noticable. Add it as a child but don't include it in layout works perfect, and may very well be the way to do it. It does make sense.

I have not tried setting it up on any other event, so it could be that because it's being setup on the creationcomplete event of the popupbutton things are out of wack.

However maybe left out of the doc's.

I haven't run the code, but it might be a bug in the player.

Instead of increasing and decreasing the height by 1, just call
invalidateDisplayList() to have the same effect (lay out the children
again).
