If you want to access the formatted String that got generated by
LineFormattedTarget you'll have to override the internalLog() method. So
inside you LineFormattedTarget subclass do:
import mx.core.mx_internal;
use namespace mx_internal;
and then
override mx_internal function internalLog(message:String):void
{
// message is the formatted String created by LineFormattedTarget
trace("Original message: " + message);
}
