This worked but, I wanted to see if it was automagicaly.
Well, it seemed that it was the project links. Now I can edit in the source, it builds, then in my component test app, the new traces show up.

Properties > Project References
And you're using 'Build Automatically'?
Those two might make the issue go away automagically. Otherwise try
doing a Clean on all projects.
