There have been a number of postings across the
various newsgroups regarding Web Services behaving differently in Cairngorm
2.1.

 

The problem is due to ServiceLocator no longer
extending UIComponent. As such, loadWSDL() is not called automatically.

 

To call a Web Service operation you will need to call
loadWSDL() yourself, for example:

 

webService.loadWSDL();

var call : AsyncToken = webService.GetQuote.send(
stockSymbol );

call.addResponder( responder );

 

In the next release of Cairngorm we will do this
