Hi Tim, thanks for the response.

Yes, I am overriding the updateDisplayList function; but changing the
unscaledHeight their (or even by overriding the setActualSize method)
does not have the effect I want.  It does change the chart element
height, but the other chart elements will overlap it.

I believe what I need to adjust is the stacking behaviour of the
column chart, and because this in turn relies on several private data
members of the ColumnChartSeries object it is not easy to subclass.  I
have not had any luck so far.
