I searched around for discussions re: how AIR could be used to create widgets that reside on the user desktop similar to Vista's Sidebar. You bootup there they are w/ current metrics. Has this been done / discussed somewhere I could review?
My client is looking at the rollout of a BI dashboard suite. One aspect that would bring value to the end users would be to have the most critical metric(s) resident on the desktop with periodic data refreshes. So you get a reminder as you bounce around doing your daily work (don't need to login to the dashboard itself ... the desktop widget could cache and login for you for periodic polls).
