although there are a couple builtin formats for List based controls and the
Tree, the full list is up to you to create.  You can use what ever you
want.  eg

var ds:DragSource = new DragSource();
ds.addData(dragInitiator, 'superFuzz');

or

var ds:DragSource = new DragSource();
ds.addData(dragInitiator, 'lipsum');
