Well, what if you have it up there and just say something is available on this forum?

Not go into detail, just let people know to take a fresh look at the exchange.

For instance, I just released a Check Box Tree, it's on the exchange, check it out.  I don't even have to put a url here because if they go to the exchange, all the info is there.

That said, I personally would welcome notification about commercial
component availability.

I don't think there will be so many that it will become a traffic issue,
and I also think that helping Flex component developers earn a living is
a reasonable use of this community resource.

At least until there is another / better place.

I think Flex Exchange would be a better place. I think Flex start page
should point to some Adobe approved catalog. Additionally I would also
argue that listing them "Amazon style" (ie with authors , editorial and
users review ) would be beneficial.
