Nah man, you just are not thinking 4th dimensionally. Honestly your statement is shortsighted itself.

The point is, the Flash Player 9 is FAST! I have a working as3-mxml documenter that can parse analyze and render the whole flex framework source. All my docs are created using it and I don't even use ASDoc.

I have heard you say this before and I am finally disagreeing with you, you need to think out of the 'box'.

I could make a new Textfield component that blows Flash's away as a custom component. Mark my words, I have seen something that you wouldn't believe and it was done as a flash word processor.(no comment on this) [Flex 2, Player 9]

So, my point is, components, components, components. You must be still shaking off the rigidity of the Flash Player 8 and the v2 framework, this is a new day.

Peace, Mike

Every once in a while this topic is discussed on Flash/Flex mailing
lists and boards. In my opinion this discussion is very short-sighted.
What good is a full featured rich text editor as long as the
Flash/Flex text fields and text area components only support a very
small subset of HTML tags?

Since the text input fields of any RTE component I know of rely on the
text area component, I see no solution to this problem. Once Adobe
decides to support more HTML tags (like <table>, <ul>, <ol>, etc.) it
makes sense to ask for a better RTE component.
