Gary,
Is your radio a Flex-5000? Do you have a ATU installed? Perhaps you are
referring to my previous posting. Would you please confirm your radio
type and whether ATU installed or not?
I experience the Beta 2.0.0 refused to start with firmware 2.0.0.8 with
a program shutdown when hitting the start button. I assumed that perhaps
the database was corrupted during the version changes. I then
determined the following sequence would allow Beta 2.0.0 to work with
firmware 2.0.0.8.
Reset Database. If PowerSDR window comes up, you can reset database in
setup without hitting start button of PowerSDR. Another method is to:
delete database.xml, power.csv and wisdom from data directory,
C:\Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\FlexRadio Systems\PowerSDR v1.19.3
is typical directory location with Windows 7. This is a bit more then a
simple database reset, but will give the same result.
Restart v2.0 Beta
Ignore firmware warning, click OK.
Error opening radio driver error window occurs.
Click OK
Do not click start button of PowerSDR. If you do after the database
reset, PowerSDR will halt with error message.
Close PowerSDR
Restart PowerSDR ignoring firmware error message.
It will then do the EEPROM Read as though this was the normal first
start up.
It seems to work correctly from that point on, except for the warning on
firmware everytime you start v2.0.0 Beta.
No one from FlexRadio has responded to my previous email of a Flex-5000
with no ATU installed and firmware 2.0.2.2 not working correctly and
whether there were any issues running firmware 2.0.0.8 when no ATU is
installed. The only change posted for firmware 2.0.2.2 is support for
the ATU, that is why I tried 2.0.0.8 firmware.
Regardless, if the lack of an ATU is causing your problem, it confirms
it is a bug and I will file a bug report.

Everything appeared to be working fine with 2.0 until I tried to
transmit. I discovered I wasn't getting any output power on any band
in any mode. Following a suggestion made on this reflector I changed
the firmware from 2.0.2.2 to 2.0.0.8 and although I got the firmware
warning message I continued into 2.0 and was able to get full power
output. After bouncing between the two firmware revisions Beta 2.0
refused to even start with firmware 2.0.0.8, so I just rolled
everything back to PowerSDR 1.18.3 and it's working fine. For the
record I'm running Vista 32 bit with all the latest patches.
