I'm a satisfied owner of a 5000A (90% satisfied--I've never found a perfect radio). I'm not sure why a minority of users have difficulty using the equipment (5000, 3000, or 1500).
I am fairly confident that the word "minority" is appropriate because of the reviews I see on eHam. Of the 43 eHam reviews for the 3000, a significant majority (77%) rated the 3000 as a "5", and another 16% rated the 3000 as a "4". I would conclude that most users (93%) consider the the 3000 to be a very good radio. There is no way to know for sure how representative the eHam reviews are of the totality of users, but consider three things: -the eHam reviews for Flex radios compare favorably to reviews of other popular high-end equipment -eHam reviews require that the reviewer submit their callsign, which lends some degree of credibility, and removes the veil of anonymity -the "sqeaky wheels" are surely well represented here on the forums, so I expect that they are at least proportionately represented on eHam (as they should be--especially those that are based on valid technical observations) These things being said, I also believe that most users are looking forward to continuing product improvements via software releases (just like the K3 users are waiting for improvements from Elecraft). Would we like to have them now? Sure, but (while we're waiting) there is a lot here to enjoy with these fine radios. 73, Dan - W4TQ On Thu, Feb 17, 2011 at 9:19 AM, David Painter <[email protected]>wrote: > Mickael, > > You are very far from being in a minoriy.
