Howard:

The power connection on a Firewire card is only necessary if you want
to externally power the FW device FROM the firewire cable.  This is
typically for external hard disks, etc.  None of the FLEX-Series
radios require external power so no need to connect to that power
connector on your firewire card.

Also, thanks for the data on the TI-based Firewire cards.  We
wholeheartedly agree the TI chipset is the best for streaming audio
applications.  The ones we sell on our store site are TI-based.
