Well, the 100C spec that Flex uses is well below the maximum operating
temperature of the devices, at least according to Flex. Even at 100C it is
substantially derated. I was looking at devices designed for automotive use
and quite surprised to see normal operating ranges up to 150C.

The specs and real life performance are not always in sync.............

Hence the fact that Flex specs the operating range well below the device
maximum specification. They built in substantial margin. But they are very
forthcoming with the information. Just ask 'em.

But I understand how you could be concerned. There is very little thermal
mass in the 3000's PA heat-sink so temps rise very quickly once you key the
transmitter. But the fan responds equally quickly and temps level off just
as quickly.

Well, you can just press control-shift-I at the beginning and the Info
window with voltage and heat-sink temp is there. You can just leave it on
the screen. Have you put in a feature request to make it persistent? That
way its state would be stored in the configuration so if it was open when
you turned off PowerSDR, it would automatically open when you started
PowerSDR again.

For brute strength I really like the 3000. When I travel it goes in my
backpack with the tuner and my laptop. It gets bounced and banged all over.
But it just keeps working.
