The concerns probably come from the fact that the Flex does not have an ALC input and that an Amplifier may be overdriven. Some folks use DDUtil which provides the ability to define Drive levels when using an amp. I use an Elecraft KPA500 with my 5000 with no problem. The KPA500 senses being overdrive and faults without damage. I am considering to purchase a solid state amp to use with my flex 5000 and would like to avoid any issues before I get into trouble . So I would be interested to know if there are people out there having good luck running a solid state amp with there flex radio . thanks John Molenda kb2huk [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] __._,_.___ Reply to <mailto:[email protected]?subject=Re%3A%20Is%20it%20ok%20to%20use%20a% 20solid%20state%20amp> sender | Reply to <mailto:[email protected]?subject=Re%3A%20Is%20it%20ok%20to%20use%20 a%20solid%20state%20amp> group | Reply <http://groups.yahoo.com/group/FlexRadio/post;_ylc=X3oDMTJyY21rMDBqBF9TAzk3M zU5NzE0BGdycElkAzE3NDIzNTYyBGdycHNwSWQDMTcwNTA2MzEwOARtc2dJZAMxMjM5NQRzZWMDZ nRyBHNsawNycGx5BHN0aW1lAzEzNDg2NzgyMzM-?act=reply&messageNum=12395> via web post | <http://groups.yahoo.com/group/FlexRadio/post;_ylc=X3oDMTJmMHN0MWhiBF9TAzk3M zU5NzE0BGdycElkAzE3NDIzNTYyBGdycHNwSWQDMTcwNTA2MzEwOARzZWMDZnRyBHNsawNudHBjB HN0aW1lAzEzNDg2NzgyMzM-> Start a New Topic Messages in this topic <http://groups.yahoo.com/group/FlexRadio/message/12395;_ylc=X3oDMTM3azg1cmQy BF9TAzk3MzU5NzE0BGdycElkAzE3NDIzNTYyBGdycHNwSWQDMTcwNTA2MzEwOARtc2dJZAMxMjM5 NQRzZWMDZnRyBHNsawN2dHBjBHN0aW1lAzEzNDg2NzgyMzMEdHBjSWQDMTIzOTU-> (1) Recent Activity: · <http://groups.yahoo.com/group/FlexRadio/members;_ylc=X3oDMTJncWIwMzFxBF9TAz k3MzU5NzE0BGdycElkAzE3NDIzNTYyBGdycHNwSWQDMTcwNTA2MzEwOARzZWMDdnRsBHNsawN2bW JycwRzdGltZQMxMzQ4Njc4MjMz?o=6> New Members 11 <http://groups.yahoo.com/group/FlexRadio;_ylc=X3oDMTJmc3IyZGdxBF9TAzk3MzU5Nz E0BGdycElkAzE3NDIzNTYyBGdycHNwSWQDMTcwNTA2MzEwOARzZWMDdnRsBHNsawN2Z2hwBHN0aW 1lAzEzNDg2NzgyMzM-> Visit Your Group -------- Any and all comments and opinions stated here are those of the individual user and not FlexRadio Systems <http://groups.yahoo.com/;_ylc=X3oDMTJlMW9jazZmBF9TAzk3MzU5NzE0BGdycElkAzE3N DIzNTYyBGdycHNwSWQDMTcwNTA2MzEwOARzZWMDZnRyBHNsawNnZnAEc3RpbWUDMTM0ODY3ODIzM w--> Yahoo!
