Gentlemen, First, thanks to all that tried to help me. But the problem with the computer firewire interface and the Flex turned out to not be so simple.
It's been about 4 days since I first reported my firmware update messages as being a problem after a computer crash. After looking at some other indicators on the computer including greatly increased DPC latency, and running diagnostics on it, I realized that the problem went deeper into the computer than I had hoped. A simple burned out firewire interface would have been an easy fix. In the end, the solution was to rebuild the computer. It was 5 years old and I have used it for a lot of things, so it was getting tired and the motherboard was giving it up. It started having bus clocking problems and would only post sporadically. I was able to reset the CMOS and go in and slow the clock down enough to get it to run to back up my data onto a NAS without having to put the drive in another computer. So about $800 in components and a new OS and I am back Flexing. I didn't think I needed a computer update, but the motherboard said otherwise. This particular motherboard (EVGA Z77 FTW) has a VIA firewire chipset, but it appears to work just fine. My old X58 motherboard had a TI chipset. And I missed this weekend's contest. PSDR would hang and then gave this error/symptom. A powerdown and restart did not fix the problem. I did a system restore using a windows restore point and the problem resolved. I am running Win7 Ultimate. Something must have gotten corrupted in the windows registry or system files. I duplicated this several times. My ultimate solution was to install a dedicated firewire card. At least I hope it is that easy. _______________________________________________ Flexedge mailing list [email protected] http://mail.flex-radio.biz/mailman/listinfo/flexedge_flex-radio.biz This is the FlexRadio Systems e-mail Reflector called FlexEdge.
