I think our Friends at Flex are going to have to plan a press release
stating that:
"Due to the ENCLOSURE vendor changing their requirements, we can no
longer source the ENCLOSURE for the Flex 5000 at an economical price.
Therefore, since we can no longer buy the ENCLOSURE in an affordable
manner, and have not been able to find another ENCLOSURE vendor, we have
decided to suspend production of the Flex 5000 since the ENCLOSURE is no
longer economically available.
All other parts except the ENCLOSURE will continue to be supported for
the foreseeable future."
Maybe then everybody would realize it's just the ENCLOSURE that has made
this fine radio unproducible at the current cost.
BTW, I would have made the font size bigger, but I didn't want to insult
the readers of the reflector who have followed this whole affair, and
know why the Flex 5000 has been dropped,
