Posted by Rob - AK9G in the HRD forum... The Keyspan 4 Port USB to Serial Adapter allows you to connect up to four (4) High Speed 230 Kbps serial devices (RS-232) to a single USB port. The model is: USA-49WLC and it's available from many computer suppliers. I got mine for $129 from www.PCConnection.com. The unit works great with HRD and the control software's a breeze! See http://www.Keyspan.com/products/usb/USA49w/ for further information. They also sell a USB to Serial cable if only one serial port is required. At first, I didn't think I needed four (4) serial ports. But, now that HRD supports rotator control, I've got my rig connected to one com port; my HRD controlled rotator connected to another com port; with another com port for programming code plugs into my various HTs; and one still available on the Keyspan adapter. Although, Keyspan is very well known in the industrial and commercial computer marketplace, apparently, the brand is not well known in the HAM realm as I was the first to create a review category and post a description and review of the item on eham.net: http://www.eham.net/reviews/detail/5395 I haven't had a single problem with the unit. _________________ Very 73, Rob - AK9G (prev. Bad enough to have the sound interface, the webcam, the parallel, etc. but I'm running out of USB hubs..Any experiences good/bad with any of the 2 or 4 port USB<>serial widgets. Likewise for parallel (although I confess I've never seen any of those with multiple outputs, but never hurts to ask) James Lux, P.E.
