Thanks for your response.

Since I sent my last email, I've checked this out some more and what  
I find is that the click occurs on every 1 kHz step with Spur  
Reduction OFF and every 3 kHz with Spur Reduction ON. If I reduce the  
step to 100 Hz it happens at those same frequency intervals. So, it's  
definitely not coming from the mouse wheel but seems to be connected  
with the DDS?

The effect is frequency dependent, but my observation of it becoming  
noticeable above 24 MHz was probably related to atmospheric noise  
levels. With no antenna, the clicks become noticeable above about 7  
MHz, but are not audible below that. They occur with all mode and  
filter settings (though the actual sound is modified somewhat).
