I agree that you can use 2.0.  I have been running .NET 2.0 for months
without any problems.

The Flex software works with .NET 1.1 only, they are not compatible with
each other. Future versions of the Flex software will use .NET 2.0 but
for now you must use .NET 1.1

Both .NET 1.1 and 2.0 will co-exist so you can have both.
