I could not get the demo to work on my Sony laptop at all (vista 32) but the
radio worked fine 10 minutes after I unboxed it.

The problem is that when running the demo, there has to be a hardware
component that performs the A/D and D/A conversions and this is your PC
sound card. Vista and to a lesser degree Win7 have made it difficult to
use generic sound cards for this purpose.
You can get it you work with a lot of "fiddling" with soundcard setting.
The FLEX-x000 SDRs have their own internal A/D and D/A converters so this
issue is moot when you have radio hardware attached to the PC running
PowerSDR.
PowerSDR v2.0 will be 100% compatible with Win7 x64, so it will not have
the problems listed below because it does not use .NET 1.1

Is there a solution for this? I see the notice that there is a known
compatibility issue with the latest update to Vista.
I am trying to run the test drive version of PowerSDR with Windows 7, 64
bit on an HP desktop, quad processor, 6GB. PowerSDR requires Microsoft
NET Framework 1.1.4322 which in turn will not install - it has
compatibility issues with Windows 7. I have just ordered my Flex 5000 and
would like to work out the PowerSDR installation before the radio arrives.
