Thanks Gerald . that wasn't so hard . you could almost run for politics now . you said a lot without really saying anything and I bet people are mostly happy to at least have been informed about the progress. We are all trying to be on the same team. Thank you.

Kevin, We are damned if we do and damned if we don't. Your place in the queue is determined by the date of your pre-order. Many people feel that being in the pre-order queue has value, given that the radios have to be scheduled into our office over time for the upgrade. I will give you the best information I have at the moment. As of this afternoon, we are now very pleased with the performance numbers we are getting on both VHF and UHF with the early in-house production units. Over the next week, we will start bringing in the first few radios for retrofit and testing. If all goes smoothly with the early early upgrades, we will release manufacturing to build the first large production run, which we expect will take roughly four weeks give or take. We will then start scheduling the queue at a rate that will allow for a reasonable turn around time in the factory. Thanks for your patience. I know this is the company line now ... BUT It is kind of difficult to NOT make forward looking statements while asking your potential customers to PREORDER. Ie: there was a V/U product announcement with lots of details and I got an order confirmation on Oct 29 last year stating I would get an email as soon as it shipped ... that led me to believe that it wouldn't take too long. So let's be reasonable ... if you want pre-orders, isn't it fair that you at least tell people something ...especially if they have been "PREORDERED" for nearly 8 months? Telling customers that it'll be ready when its ready seems not only a little bit arrogant, but could possibly hurt Flex's Reputation and Sales. I don't think anybody wants you to compromise quality ... we would simply like some factual progress reports. I worked in the custom automation business for years ... and I know "stuff happens" ... but if I told any of my customers "it'll be ready when its ready" there would have lots of fireworks. So while I do understand Flex's point of view ... I hope Flex understands their "Customers"(emphasis on the customers) point of view. FlexRadio has stopped making forward looking announcements related to ship dates for hardware and software products, so you are not going to hear anything until products are actually shipping. When the FLEX-VU5K and the FLEX-1500 become fully available, there will be PLENTY of announcements on the reflectors, web site and you will get a personal notification or a shipping notice from FlexRadio when your order ships or is ready for integration. They will be shouting this from the rooftops too :-) I know for a fact that every bit of energy is being applied by the engineering and software development teams in resolving the gating issues for delivery of PowerSDR v2, the FLEX-1500 and the FLEX-VU5K. They are working as hard and as fast as they can, but they are not going to sacrifice quality for a rushed delivery. -Tim -----Original Message----- From: flexradio-boun...@flex-radio.biz [mailto:flexradio-boun...@flex-radio.biz] On Behalf Of paul glassman Sent: Tuesday, June 15, 2010 7:50 PM To: flexradio@flex-radio.biz Subject: [Flexradio] update?
