I might be walking the edge on this, but when SP3 came out for XP my older laptop crashed upon rebooting after SP3 was installed,. It crashed every time! Even after a full restore to "out of the box" condition and installing all updates as well as SP3 it crashed EVERY time I turned it on. After a phone call to MS, I sent the info they requested and never have heard a thing. At this point I cannot fully trust Microsoft
So now I do not take any Windows updates or SP's and all runs just fine on all of my units...if Win 7 SP1 is a collection of "fixes" then what was broke if it had to be "fixed?" Of course the MS engineer sitting in his mom's basement with his computer will never tell you. As it is stated...if it is not broke do not fix it...so I am not installing SP1. I am sorry for my rant...Ted, WB2LOU On Sun, Mar 6, 2011 at 11:44 AM, Neal Campbell <[email protected]>wrote: > There really isn't much new in this service pack and if you are absolutely > current on the Windows updates, there's very little as its more a > collection > of fixes.
