In the recent WPX Contest I decided to try a different approach than I used the last time. I switched the Panadapter to 2x zoom level and went up and down the bands looking for the weakest signals I could find. They were easy to see at 50fps. It is truly amazing what the 5000 can hear! These were all stations that were down at the noise level, many with strong adjacent QRM. I was able to eliminate strong nearby stations easily by grabbing the edge of the passband and dragging with the mouse - bye bye QRM.
