I am really having a ball with the new radio. Just had my first QSO with it
- running 5W into a random wire on 30M. The internal tuner didn't complain
at all, and it had every right to do so! Only made it to Dayton so far (from
VA), but got a solid copy 579 for over 30 minutes of chatting. But, I
noticed a couple of things I have questions about:

1. The temperature readout on the unit seemed to go up rather quickly during
transmit. It was as high as 59C at one point. Is this normal? The rig
cooled down promptly to its usual receive temp of 26C.

2. After about 20 minutes, the audio developed a very rough buzzing note.
CW sounded like spark gap! Looks like there was a 60+ Hz component on top
of everything. I have noticed this a couple of times now. Simply putting
PowerSDR in "off" and then pushing "start" again solves the problem. Just
wondering if this sounds to those with experience that I may still have some
settings to tweak?

Finally, I would like to try the 3000 with WSPRnet. I believe that VAC is
needed but was wondering if anyone has a quick link to how to go about this.

Many thanks. This list looks like a super resource. Have learned gobs just
browsing for the last few weeks.
