Believe it or not, but all the relevant discussion on this matter
leads to Fritz Onion, who I suspect you know.

If we convert to the CodeFile then you can use the new
aspnet_compiler.exe which may have some additional optimizations, but
you will not be able to confirm this until all pages are converted.

If we leave the CodeBehind in place then the web page designer
functionality may not work. It may be corrected by using replacing
CodeBehind with Src attribute, which is implied to be equivalent and
produce the same output as using CodeBehind, but htis needs to be
confirmed.

I will create a bug and assign it to myself. The next checkin later
this evening will revert to CodeBehind for now, but you may want to
discuss this with Fritz, if he is available.
