Your work alone gets me as fast as I was in 1.8, which is enough to
make me and my users happy. Once I commit the stuff above, then my
problem pages will actually be significantly faster in 2.0 than in 1.8
(again, the fastest optimization is not the doing work :) .)

Derek, all this discussion has been in associated with the Bliki
stuff, so I'll update the zip file on my site with the perf
improvements once I get it all in line.

And, again, the work that you did got it to where I needed it to be,
