Can you expand on what this is a little bit for me? This is important to me
because the configuration file for aircraft in JSBSim specifies pilot location
for an aircraft. The aircraft config file specifies landing gear location,
center of gravity, etc. as well as pilot location. This should be the default.
Other vantage points is what I think you are referring to and they should be
called "Alternate view locations" or something. "Pilot offsets" as you describe
above is a bit confusing to me at first glance.

The person who defines the FDM config file knows the aircraft intimately and
putting pilot offset into that config file is proper - NOT because it is
necessarily a flight dynamics parameter (you might well argue that it is not),
but because the information is available to the aircraft config file designer
on the same diagram the landing gear location is derived from. This information
is part of the "set" of information that comprises the aircraft config file. Of
course, *anyone* can specify "Alternate view locations"...

Am I off base with this?

Jon
