Erik,
I can, if needed, free up the _time_ to go ... the bay area is
relatively close for me, which is why it was feasible to do LWCE and ALS.
However, I don't have any justification whatsoever for the trip to get work
to pay for it or (more to the point) for the accommodation while in town.
If we're going to ask them to contribute towards someone's travel expenses,
is there anybody who (a) uses SGI gear regularly and (b) would actually
_like_ to visit the Bay area ... as a vacation trip for example ?
If booked with sufficient notice, with careful choice of airports and times,
it is usually possible to get to and from somewhere in the Bay Area for
less money than you'll spend on the accommodation once you're there (sigh).
It would be worth finding out how many days they'd like us to be present.
