Hi,

Not really, the idea behind the glass displays is for the development of
full scale cockpit simulators. so things like framerate and fidelity are
major design objectives to achieve the highest level of realism and
performance.

Right now you can get good displays (Magenta, Elite PS, PS1, etc) for MS
FS200x, but as some have noted the flight dynamics may not be all that
rigorous and do not support UDP/TCP/IP protocols and are not open source.
FlightGear modeling is world class! So now we need a set of world class
glass displays that match the capabilities of the above mentioned products
and work with FG

Networks are the "mother's milk" of home cockpit builders.

I haven't figured out how to run "outside" of windows (MS or X) so the code
reflects my state of knowledge. So far I've been seeing frame rates of
55-60fps on the FG side and around 30fps on the opengc side (you wouldn't
believe all the "tiny little triangles" used to create the ftgl fonts, as
compared to the bitmap fonts). So the 'windowed mode' is down in the noise
and doesn't appear on my horizon ATM.
