Rob: I think most people, when thinking of stability think: "If I made an exact paper airplane of the aircraft in question and threw it, would it fly straight - like the quintessential "dart" paper airplane - or would it go head over heels"? I think I have a feel for it (and I really should *know* it) but because I am lazy and tired at the moment and because I have a hunch you'd do justice to the topic, for the benefit of the us all, would you differentiate and explain the difference between static and dynamic stability?
