This is how far I got. Unfortunately, Mark's documentation is all about how to use the font library. He doesn't say squat about what the file format it. I even started looking at the code, but there's no format documentation to be found there either. Reverse engineering the format based on the parser source code isn't my idea of a fun hack. I'd submit that this lack of documentation has a lot to do with why all of the existing glut fonts look so terrible. The only software that generates them works with X11 bitmap fonts.
