Yes, I am aware of that. That's where I started with the "jitter testing" thread last night. See second paragraph of: http://mail.flightgear.org/pipermail/flightgear-devel/2002-June/008703.html So no offense taken, since you were wrong: I didn't miss the core point :-D Drawing the cockpit without that translation at all would eliminate the jitter, of course.
