I agree with Norman here. IMO there shouldn't be anything aircraft specific in preferences.xml. By that I mean setting up the environment is good but setting up the aircraft inside the environment should be "one stop shopping" The nav and environment related stuff is okay, but controls and instrument options should be in the set files. It would be nice in the future to have scenario related params as a separate included file and just have eg input devices and views in preferences.
