Doesn't look like anyone has been posting :-)  I for one have been right

Interesting.  That's something I haven't noticed in a sim before (note that I
haven't taken more than a passing glance at the last few MSFS releases).  Is
that normal behavior for all CDI?

It would be good to make that configurable per model or per instrument.  Been
thinking about how to do it with 3D instruments.  Maybe selecting different
objects depending on outside light.  Self-lit instruments, where they do
occur, could just have the proper material properties.  There are many ways
however that including material properties manipulation in the "animation" xml
processing could be useful.

Where is the taxi light mounted on the c172?
