-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hello to all, I've downloaded/installed/compiled the latest bleeding edge CVS tarballs of SimGear/FlightGear (as described in the "getting started" guide). I haven't had a problem doing all the necessary steps (well, only one: the link of the SimGear snapshot).
My question is: how much does the new 3d clouds impact on the frame rate? I used to have a FPS of 27.0, with the old 'flat' clouds. The use of this new (amazing!!!) feature gives me a FPS of 4.0/2.0, without significant changes beetween monitor resolutions. Is this caused only by my system/video card or the cloud3d code is so CPU intensive? My configuration is 1GH Duron with 256 Mb and a NVidia TNT2 Vanta (16 Mb, AGP) running Linux Mandrake 9.0.
