David Having been brought up in West London, I tried to remember where my Dad (a keen spotter) used to take me at the weekends. Two places come to mind immediately: Fairoaks - SW of London near Woking. Fairly close to Heathrow. I believe the London Transport Flying Club is based here Biggin Hill - South of London Some links: http://www.flyingzone.co.uk/flyingschools/flyingschools.htm I think you want to look under Kent, Surrey or Sussex. In fact, www.flyingzone.co.uk seems to be a good place to start for a lot of stuff. http://www.flyingzone.co.uk/flyingschools/kent/kentfs.htm http://www.flyingzone.co.uk/flyingschools/surrey/surreyfs.htm http://www.flyingzone.co.uk/flyingschools/sussex/sussexfs.htm http://www.alanmann.co.uk/fixedwingschool.asp In terms of getting you near Hastings there are Shoreham (Sussex, near Brighton) Manston (right on the end of Kent near Ramsgate) Rochester (Kent, Thames Estuary) I've not managed to take a lesson in my life, so I can't actually vouch for any of them, but it might give you a start.
