Seconded. And, at least in North America, giving it a try is dirt cheap (though the rest of the training won't be). At the Ottawa Flying Club, you can get a 30-minute intro flight in a Cessna 150 for CAD 49.00, which is about EUR 32.00. You cannot even get lunch for that in London or New York.
