Now it is possible to fly the P-51D from cvs... --aircraft-id=p51d. I've made
an attempt to create a YASim file. Needless to say, I don't know what I'm
doing, but I think i've done pretty well with the dimensions.

The YASim model is flyable and pretty reasonable performance wise, but there
are some problems, that maybe someone can help with:

1). The model seems to rev up (rpm) too fast when hitting full throttle.

2). Seems to climb a little too well for a P-51.

3). A little bouncy on takeoff (not a gear problem). Looks like the tail
rises up too high.

4). Fails to reach highest altitudes. When I increase cruise-alt up to
35,000ft either YASim won't resolve, or if it does the aircraft pulls hard
right and won't fly.

Tips for taking off (with current YASim config):
Applying a little back pressure on the stick will reduce get you down the
runway better. Wait for the aircraft to get up to 170mph or higher before
pulling a little more on the stick and pulling out of ground effect. The
stall speed on the P-51D is something like 150-160mph.

Best,

Jim
