Is that common? ..quite common I dare say, you find them for roll control from hang gliders and up, I believe the Boeing 737 (and more) use inboard and outboard sets, the latter moved with the ailerons last time I flew in one, and I believe some B52's use them _instead_ of ailerons, and with full span flaps, some STOL planes drop the ailerons about half as far as the flaps and use spoilers to boost roll control, to put it short, "quite common". ;-) -- ..med vennlig hilsen = with Kind Regards from Arnt... ;-) ...with a number of polar bear hunters in his ancestry...
