Doesn't helpI think if you got in contact with them and explained who you were and what you are doing that not only might they allow you to use their material, but may even endorse and assist the project. And if not, you can use other sources... but it's worth a try.

I was also thinking about ways in which we can make flight gear more challenging (between take off and landing that is).
How about having a disaster setting? When switched it on could affect any part of the aircraft from power loss to hydraulic failure in control surfaces. How about reenacting famous air disasters? Having bits fail in the sim might even give a pilot some idea how to cope if it were to happen in real life...
