We could use the edonky network for sharing the scenery and other flightgear relevant files. This would reduce the traffic of the official ftp mirror servers because users could download those files from each other via the edonkey network. I thought about creating edonkey links (hash values of those files) which could be listed on the official flightgear website from there users would only need to tell the hash values to their edonkey clients. The only thing that is necessary would be one official flightgear edonkey client which is sharing those files in the edonkey network to make sure, that these files are allways available in the edonkey network. What do you think about this idea?
