Yeah, it's funny how hard it is to draw simple outlined shapes in the Gimp. For a circle, for example, you have to start a new layer, create a circular selection, fill it with your desired colour, shrink the selection by n pixels (the width of the line), clear the selection, then paste the layer down. Yipes! There's probably an easier way using boolean selection operations, but even then ...


On the other hand, anything more sophisticated in the Gimp is laughably simple -- for example, I once needed to remove a telephone from the top of a piano in a high-resolution photo, and it took only a few minutes.
