This is a good point. What I do with JSBSim is to automatically run a series
of tests -- or flight profiles -- with our own scripting capability. Then, a
set of plots is automatically generated, along with an HTML page that
interfaces with those plots. Within one minute I then have a representative
set of plots that serves as a regression test compared to prior results
plotted. If the plots make me happy, I commit the changes.

FlightGear is a much larger program, but I wonder if nasal might provide the
means to automatically run a set of tests. A scripted plotting capability
ought to be able to co-plot test results, for those things that can be
plotted.
